本校主催の記念すべき第１回「模擬国連大阪」Model United Nations Osaka 2015

7月21日、22日に記念すべき本校主催の第一回模擬国連大阪が大阪国際交流センター開催され、無事終了しました。

第１回にもかかわらず、東大寺学園高校や西大和学園高校、立命館宇治高校など、本校を含め計９校、１２８名の高校生が参加し、「子どもの権利―教育、健康、児童労働―」について英語で議論し、問題解決を図りました。

Although this was the first MUN Osaka, 128 high school students participated from nine high schools such as Todaiji-gakuen HS, Nishiyamato-gakuen HS, Ritsumeikan-uji HS as well as Kansai International HS, and discussed the global issue titled “The rights of the Child – Education, Health and Child Labor.”

関西圏だけでなく、広島や岡山から参加してくれた高校生128名が「子どもの権利を守る」という議題のもと英語で白熱した議論を見せてくれました。

なかでも本校生徒は全員が積極的に発言し、会議の進行を務める議長やそれを支える秘書の役割、また複数の国の意見をまとめないといけない難しい立場であるブロックリーダーという役割も見事にこなしてくれました。


他校の先生方からも感心の声をいただき私も誇らしい気持ちでいっぱいでした。
見学に来てくれた1、2年生も普段とは違う3年生の活躍に感動していました。

見学した本校１、２年生の声

会場の雰囲気や3年生の頑張りを伝えるためにもいくつか彼らの声を紹介したいと思います。
【1年生の声】
私はＫＩＨＳの先輩方全員輝いていたと思います。みなさんが積極的に手を挙げていて、自分の意見をしっかり伝えていたところがすごかったです。
先輩方みなさんを見習いたいです。
先輩方の英語力にとても刺激を受けました。特に発展途上国代表の人たちの意見はとても良かったと思います。また議長をしていた先輩にとても憧れました。自分自身もいつか同じ舞台に立った時に先輩のようになれるように頑張りたいと強く思いました。
【2年生の声】
1年生のとき日本語でのＫＩＭＵＮが凄く楽しかったのですが、英語がもう少しできないとＭＵＮ　ＯＳＡＫＡの本番では発言できないなと思いました。先輩たちも他校の人もみんな凄く下調べをしていて真剣に取り組む姿がかっこよくて私もそういう風になりたいと思いました。
一人ひとりが主役という感じで責任感があるなと思いました。ちゃんと周りの人と話し合って意見を互いに聞くことが大切だと見学していて思いました。

模擬国連では、知識、英語力、交渉力、表現力、想像力、度胸、様々なことが試されるので、成長には絶好の機会です。
参加した全員がこの経験を糧に将来を切り拓いていってくれることを心から願っています。

模擬国連大阪　開会式のメッセージ

また今回、開会式ではアメリカ総領事　Allen S. Greenberg 氏、大阪北ロータリークラブ元会長　鴻池一季氏、本校校長花畑好一先生がスピーチをしてくださいましたが、以下に　鴻池一季氏のスピーチ全文を掲載させていただきます。
Good morning everybody. It is my great pleasure to make a speech at an opening of model United Nations on behalf of Rotary Club of Osaka North. I believe it is especially meaningful that MUN for high school students is being held in Osaka for the first time after many year experience in Kyoto, which probably means more young students have interests in international issues and have wishes to participate in MUN.
The issues of international relations as well as the environments surrounding international Communities have been drastically changing in recent years. And those situations are not “a matter of other mountains” which is happening abroad but closely related to our domestic matters and influential to our daily life. Therefore, I believe, that it is very important and meaningful to discuss international issues by way of participating in MUN.
Let me briefly explain about our Rotary Club. Rotary Club is an organization for social services whose activities spread internationally and has long history. Its worldwide membership is 1,2000,000 at 32,000 clubs in 166 countries. Rotary clubs have closely collaborated with UN organizations such as UNESCO, UNICEF, etc. Fields of our service extend to those of vocational service, social service, international service and youth service. I am a member of Rotary Club of Osaka North for the last thirty years engaging in various field of services. Currently, I am acting as a leader of a committee for Revitalization from East Japan Great Earthquake Disaster. Through these activities, I realize that there so many people who needs supports in this world and that there so many things we can do to help them.
In this MUN you will learn many things such as international problems, diplomacies, leadership, communication skills as well as English. But, I believe there are more things that you need to learn about such as history, culture, religions, laws, common senses, etc. of other countries. Though it take a lot of time and effort to be able to do so, it is possible if you continuously have keen interests in those matters.
I wish all the success of this MUN in Osaka, and all of you will step up through its activities.
