Wow! I still can’t believe it! On Monday, Feb 1, we had the KIHS Speech Contest. 3 students were selected from each of the 2 lower levels, and 4 students were selected from each of the 2 higher levels. 14 speeches and most were great!
In the past, the students mostly read their speeches but this year was very different. This year 5 of our students competed in BIG English Speech Contests, so the students were more aware of what was expected.
Great Eye contact. Solid gestures. Mostly memorized. It was a great balance of research and presentation skills. The winners deserved to win. And, like last year, the highest level did not get all of the top prizes.
I was surprised and impressed by a number of students. Days like that are why I love teaching here!
